About Us

Stephen Bailey – Owner DJ EXPRESS

My career in music began at the age of 16 in Glasgow, Scotland as a DJ for the Youth Clubs Association. My hobby soon expanded into private parties and providing production work for local bands. This continued through my college years after which I moved to the United States settling in East Tennessee. After becoming involved in the local club DJ scene, I began receiving requests for private parties which led to the creation of DJ EXPRESS in 1989. Since then I have provided DJ services for thousands of weddings, parties and events. In the late 90s, I began expanding into live music production, conference and A/V services providing staging, lighting, and sound for many area festivals and events such as FunFest, Blue Plum Festival and Rhythm & Roots. I also have become a sound and lighting consultant for many area clubs, churches and civic organizations. Word of mouth has kept my business growing for over 20 years and even after 30 years in the business; I can’t imagine anything I could enjoy more.

Thomas Edmonson – DJ

I began my career with DJ EXPRESS at the age of 14. Going out as a helper, I soon found a passion for DJing and started doing high school dances and birthday parties before I could drive. Being with DJ EXPRESS for the past 15 years has allowed me to grow in my career from a helper to an accomplished and confident Emcee and wedding DJ.

Brandon Britton – DJ

After graduating high school, my first DJ gig was at The Sports Bar in Kingsport where I worked for five years as the house DJ. In 2006, I was hired by DJ EXPRESS to open Club-Up and also began DJing private parties and weddings for the company. For the past 3 years I have been the house DJ for Stateline in Bristol while continuing to work with DJ EXPRESS doing a wide variety of events.

Levi Tignor – DJ

When I was in high school, I began providing music for my friend’s parties and get-togethers. I was a junior when I got my first event as a real DJ. Using a borrowed PA and rented lights I started my own DJ business. I continued DJing through high school until I made enough to buy my own equipment. Soon after graduating high school, I met Stephen Bailey and the rest of the crew from DJ EXPRESS. After seeing what they had to offer, I knew if I ever wanted to be a real DJ I was going to have to learn from the best and I’ve been with them ever since.
